Biography

Laura Jewel is the granddaughter of the late "Tex" Doie Hensley Owens writer of the ASCAP COUNTRY CLASSIC "CATTLE CALL."  Tex was a late bloomer, and she is just like her grandfather.  Before she became a novelist, she made her living as a vocalist/guitarist, and she has personally written over 170 songs.  In 2005, she finally sat down at her computer to do what she had always dreamed of doing.  She wrote the beginning of two novels, and a biography about her grandparents.  No matter what she writes now, her original songs go perfectly with her original stories.  She also has an extensive amount of education:

Tennessee State University, Nashville, Tn

Master of Arts - English - 2002

Belmont University, Nashville, Tn

Bachelor of Business Administration

Music Business - 1997

Volunteer State Community College, Gallatin, Tn

Associate of Science - Humanities - 1993
